View of the Soul: The soul is seen as immortal but judged by God based on obedience to scripture, doctrine, and sacraments. Salvation of the soul requires faith in Christ and alignment with church teachings.
Requirements: Usually include baptism, confession of faith, communion, moral living, repentance of sin, and acceptance of Jesus as Savior. The focus is on institutional authority and correct belief (orthodoxy).
Tone: More structured, rule-based, often linked to denominational creeds and rituals. The soul’s fate is often framed in terms of heaven/hell.
View of the Soul: The soul is divine in origin, eternal, and inherently connected to God. Rather than focusing on rigid doctrine, it emphasizes personal spiritual growth, compassion, and inner transformation.
Requirements: The soul’s journey centers on awakening, love, forgiveness, meditation, and seeking Gnosis (direct knowledge of God). Jesus is often viewed as a spiritual teacher, guide, and model of enlightenment.
Tone: More open and mystical, less institutional. It draws on inner experience, contemplative prayer, and sometimes Gnostic or alternative Christian traditions.
View of the Soul: Based on testimonies of people who clinically died and returned. The soul leaves the body, enters a realm of light, experiences unconditional love, and learns that its purpose is growth through love and service.
Requirements: Most NDE accounts emphasize that God/Source does not demand strict religious observance. Instead, the soul is asked: “How did you love? How did you treat others?” Requirements are simple: live with compassion, kindness, and authenticity.
Tone: Experiential and deeply personal. Instead of doctrine, it relies on lived encounters with the afterlife. Many experiencers come back saying all religions contain partial truths, but the essence is love.
Religious Christianity: Requirements = faith + obedience to church law/rituals.
Spiritual Christianity: Requirements = awakening the soul through love, wisdom, and direct inner connection with God.
NDE Christianity: Requirements = no dogma, only how well the soul lived in love and compassion toward others.
